Instead of just ending whatever contract exists, Disney seems to be giving Beatrix the time they need to get started. Additionally, construction of all kind has sort of been paused or delayed for the past year as well. We must keep in mind, they have probably struggled with their other locations during this time. Rather than assuming this is a delay to the inevitable cancelation, we will continue to hold out hope that Beatrix will begin construction as soon as conditions improve. During the postponement, rather than leave the site a construction zone, it was also agreed that the property would be returned to green space until the project is restarted. Of course, we assumed the delay was due to pandemic conditions. We previously reached out to Beatrix in February to see if there were any updates on the construction timeline. We had as a result been very excited about Beatrix coming to Disney Springs. The restaurant, which has several locations in the Chicago area, offered quite a few vegan options on its menu. In 2012, Bray formed the North American Leadership Circle for Beatrix Potter Society members in the United States and Canada. She has spoken at several of the society’s International Study Conferences and given illustrated talks to various groups in Africa, Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. In 2012, she became the first overseas trustee ever elected to the Beatrix Potter Society. Her forty-five-minute talk includes the various roles played by Beatrix Potter over seventy-seven years of her life, from the author-illustrator of twenty-three children’s books to her later life as a sheep farmer, land conservationist, entrepreneur, and community activist.īetsy Bray has been a Beatrix Potter Society member since 1984.
